What is a codeshare flight?


Iberia maintains agreements with other airline companies for selling seats on certain routes operated by them under the code IB4XXX, IB7XXX. These are called "Shared Code Flights" and Iberia Plus clients will earn Avios on all of them. However, tickets against Avios are not available on IB4XXX, IB7XXX shared-code flights.*
Bear in mind that this benefit only applies to getting Avios and not to the possibility of issuing tickets paid for using Avios to fly with these companies.

What benefits do I get with oneworld as an Iberia Plus cardholder?


The chance to earn and use Avios with any oneworld company. The chance to use your Avios for flight connections operated by oneworld companies without the need to belong to their frequent flyer programmes. Easier transfers for passengers flying to Avios on these companies' global networks.

What happens if I forget my Iberia Plus number or don't have my PIN?


If you don't have your Iberia Plus card to hand and don't remember your number, contact your Iberia Plus Services Centre. You can also find the number at the top left-hand corner of all emails we send you.

If you forget your PIN or aren't sure what it is, you should go to the Personal Areaand click on "Forgotten or don't have a PIN?". You'll be asked to provide your Iberia Plus number. We will then give you three ways of obtaining a new PIN:

  • You may answer the security question you provided when you registered. If you don't remember the answer to your security question, you can click on the link that appears below it ("If you don't remember the answer, click here").
    We'll ask you for your Iberia Plus card number, the type and number of identity document and other information corresponding to your personal details stored at Iberia Plus.
  • Be sent a new PIN to your email account.
  • Provide additional information, which we have in our Iberia Plus database. To avoid problems, you will be able to answer in upper case or lower case, regardless of how you entered the information requested when you originally filled out your details.

If the PIN has expired, follow the instructions given by the system when you enter it. Remember that you must choose a different PIN, although you can always change it for one you prefer in the My Profile> User information > Password menu.

Your account has been blocked. Please send us an email clasica@iberia.es indicating your Iberia Plus card number in the subject line and attaching this document and a scanned image of your ID card or passport.

The Iberia Plus card does not require activation, even in cases of prolonged inactivity.

What are Avios and how can I get them?


Avios is the name of the currency for the Executive Club and Avios Travel Rewards Programme.

Identify yourself as an Iberia Plus cardholder every time you fly with Iberia or when you hire the services of any of the companies associated with the Programme and get Avios that you can cash in for flights, hotel stays, car hire and other services.

How can I access my Iberia Plus personal space?


The Iberia Plus tag and the boxes for entering your Iberia Plus number and, below it, Pin number , appear in the upper-right hand corner of the homepage.
If you do not have your Iberia Plus card on you and cannot remember the number, you should contact your Iberia Plus Services Centre.

If you still haven't joined Iberia Plus, you can register through Iberia.com. All you have to do is fill in a short form.

Plus, you can link your Iberia Plus profile to social networks (Facebook and LinkedIn) from the same tag.

Can I buy, gift or transfer Avios?


If you do not have enough Avios to spend on a trip or service provided by an associated company, one simple option is to buy Avios. It is also a fast way of increasing your balance. As an Iberia Plus client we offer you the possibility of buying or transferring Avios, or giving them away as presents.
Also, if you have an account in your name in the Executive Club and/or Avios Travel Rewards Programme you can transfer Avios from these accounts to your Iberia Plus account or vice versa by clicking on the "Combine your Avios" link on the Balance and Movements page.

I have more than one Iberia Plus account. Can I merge them?


Yes, you can merge a number of different tickets in a single account so long as you can show they belong to the same person. Please contact the Service Centre and provide the documentation required.

Can I use my Avios to buy a ticket for my baby?


You cannot use your Avios to buy a ticket for your baby. To issue a ticket for a baby associated with a reservation bought with Avios please contact your Iberia Plus Service Centre.

What is the blue fare and how can I book it?


It is a fare that allows you to obtain airline tickets using a lower number of Avios. Allows changes and refunds with a penalty.
To make a booking, you may do so directly via iberia.com from the section "How to enjoy my Avios" or if you prefer by calling your Iberia Plus Service Centre.

Are my Avios refundable?


Refunds of tickets purchased with Avios for Iberia Group flights depend on the fare and the following terms and conditions:

  • Blue Class: Changes and refunds are allowed through the Iberia Plus Service Centre up to 24 hours before the flight and with a penalty of €25. No refunds are allowed after the flight and no partial refunds of segments not flown.
  • Full Economy: Changes and refunds are allowed without a penalty.
  • Premium Economy: Changes and refunds are allowed through the Iberia Plus Service Centre up to 24 hours before the flight and with a penalty of €25. No refunds are allowed after the flight and no partial refunds of segments not flown.
  • Business: Changes and refunds are allowed through the Iberia Plus Service Centre up to 24 hours before the flight and with a penalty of €25. No refunds are allowed after the flight and no partial refunds of segments not flown.
  • Changes and refunds are not allowed for tickets purchased with Avios for Vueling flights.

    For partner products and services purchased with Avios, refunds must be processed directly with the partner in question and will depend on their returns policy.

How do I download my Iberia Plus card to my mobile?


To keep your Iberia Plus card in your Wallet or Passbook, you first need to download the Iberia app.

Follow the steps below:

  • Inside the Iberia app, log in with your card number and PIN (if you don't have a PIN or can't remember it, we'll send you a new one by email).
  • Next, go to "My profile" at the top right-hand corner.
  • Go to "Iberia Plus card in Passbook".
  • Select "Add" to add your card to your smartphone. On Android devices you can't send the card to your Wallet, so to access your card without having to open and log in to the app, take a screenshot of your card and save it to your Gallery. That way you'll be able to show it to Iberia Plus partners or when accessing the VIP lounge.
  • Now close the Iberia app and access the Wallet app. You'll see your card there and will be able to show it to partners so that they can scan the QR code.
  • As soon as your card tier expires, the code becomes blurred and indicates that your card has expired.

How can I enjoy my Avios?


  • You can book flights with Iberia for yourself or for whoever you want in exchange for your Avios.
  • Enjoy your Avios and use them to get a discount when you book your tickets.
  • Combine money and Avios (Avios&Money) and book hotel stays and cars .
  • Spend them on leisure offers, or purchase goods from the more than 90 partners you have at your disposal.
  • Use your Avios to get discounts on the total cost of your ticket. You'll also get Avios for the total fare and the miles flown.
  • You can transfer, buy and give your Avios to anyone else who has an Iberia Plus card.
  • Use your Avios to change your booking from tourist class (Y, B or H rate) to Business at your Iberia Plus Service Centre or Iberia Sales Office.

What do I do if I find I'm missing some Avios in my account?


If you find that the Avios balance in your private area under Balance and transactions doesn't show all the Avios for flights taken or services used, remember that for transactions where your Iberia Plus number was indicated in the booking it takes up to two months, depending on the airline or Iberia Plus partner, for the Avios to appear in your account.

If you're still missing Avios after two months, you can claim them by following the steps below:

Other airlines associated with the programme You will need to send the Iberia Plus Service Centre a copy of your air ticket or the e-ticket itinerary receipt and the original boarding pass (for flights that do not require a boarding pass, enclose a copy of the ticket or the original passenger receipt). Your Avios will be credited to your account within 45 days
Iberia Plus partners You must contact the partner through whom you booked the service. You will find a list of contacts under "Avios">Missing Avios Your Avios will be credited to your account within 3 months

In all three cases, you have six months from the date of service to claim for missing Avios. For these claims, it may take up to three months for your Avios to be credited to your account.

When does my Iberia Plus card expire?


Iberia Plus Clásica cards never expire. For all other levels, you will find the expiry date on your card as well as in "My Avios".
When your Iberia Plus card expires, we'll send you a new one with the same level or the new level attained.

Where can I check my Avios balance?


You can check your Avios balance in you private area in Balance and movements. Here you will find past movements up to 14 months back. For earlier movements, check with your Iberia Plus Service centre.

If the Avios of a flight opererated or marketed by the Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional/ Air Nostrum), American Airlines, British Airways, S7 (and Globus LLC), have notbeen applied, you can request their inclusión in "My Avios> Avios not credited".

Can another person use my Avios?


Yes. You can name beneficiaries (which you can change whenever you like) of your Iberia Plus card so that they may use your Avios to benefit from any of the services of the Programme without your having to accompany them.

We also offer you the option of using your Avios to buy airline tickets for whoever you wish to accompany you on your travels, without the need to have first included them as a beneficiary on your Iberia Plus card.

If you like you can update your list of beneficiaries directly from your Personal Area on Iberia.com > My Iberia Plus > My card > My Beneficiaries.

What do I do if my Iberia Plus card goes missing or is stolen?


If any of these circumstances arise, contact your Service Centre to request a duplicate card or go to Iberia Plus/My profile/My Card on iberia.com and print the image.

To enjoy even more facilities, download the Iberia application for iPhone or Android. That way you'll have your card on your phone and will also be able to access functions like bookings and online check-in.

Do my Avios expire?


Always use your Iberia Plus card on your flights or those of any of the Programme's partners. That way your Avios won't expire.
Regulation stipulates that you earn or spend Avios at least once every 36 months to make sure the entire Avios balance doesn't expire. Issuing or receiving Avios transferred to you is not considered to be an activity.
The expiry system will inform the customer of the number of Avios set to expire with at least 2 months’ notice. The information will appear on your account status, which may be consulted at Iberia.com. Don’t forget to use your Avios.
Once your Avios have expired, you can't redeem them.

How can I update my personal details in Iberia Plus?


If you are a registered Iberia Plus user, identify yourself and you can update your personal details from Iberia.com, on the "My Iberia >Personal details" tab.

The Name and Surname of the holder cannot be modified from iberia.com. Consult your Iberia Pluscall centre

What are Elite Points?


Elite Points (EPs) are only used to maintain the level of your Iberia Plus card or upgrade it to Plata, Oro, Platino, Infinite and Infinite Prime. All the EPs you collect between 1 April of the present year and 31 March of the following year will be recorded and taken into account to determine your Iberia Plus level.
You earn Elite Points every time you fly with the Iberia Group,* Binter, Vueling, Iberia Express or any of the oneworld airlines, irrespective of any promotions or special offers.
You can't buy, gift and transfer Elite Points like you can with Avios.

* The Iberia Group is formed of Iberia, Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum (IB8XXX) and Iberia Express.

Will I continue to be able to earn and redeem on Air Berlin following that it filed for insolvency?


We appreciate some of our Members may be aware of our fellow oneworld airline partner Air Berlin, whilst still operating is currently undertaking insolvency proceedings. You may further be aware that Air Berlin has notified its own frequent flyer program members that mileage accrual and redemption is unavailable at this time on both Air Berlin operated flights and that of Air Berlin's airline partners, which includes the Iberia Group. This does not affect any other oneworld tier benefits Members may be eligible for.

The Iberia Group would like to assure customers that we will honor all award Avios for Air Berlin flights purchased on Iberia. We have been advised that the ability to make new redemption bookings on Air Berlin is not possible however, Air Berlin have assured us all existing redemption bookings for travel on Air Berlin up to and including 1st November will be honored. We are awaiting further guidance as to what the arrangements may be for travel after this time and will advise our customers accordingly when this becomes clear.
In the event any of the above changes, we will notify our customers at the very earliest opportunity.

Iberia On Business


On Business is a programme through which small and medium-sized enterprises can access exclusive advantages and discounts.
If you are self-employed or represent a small or medium-sized enterprise, register with Iberia On Business and start earning On Business points every time you fly with Iberia, British Airways, American Airlines or any of the partners associated with the programme.

How can I get a Silver, Gold or Platinum Iberia Plus card?


If you are already belong to our Iberia Plus programme and have a Classic Iberia Plus card, you can upgrade to higher levels by accumulating Elite Points which you get by flying and which are solely and exclusively used to upgrade/maintain your card level:
If you have an Iberia Plus Classic card and you would like an Iberia Plus Silver card, you will need to earn 1,100 Elite Points or have made 25 flights with companies in the Iberia Group, British Airways and/or Vueling in the past year (1 April to 31 March).
If you have an Iberia Plus Silver card and you would like an Iberia Plus Gold card, you will need to earn 2,250 Elite Points or have made 50 flights with companies in the Iberia Group, British Airways and/or Vueling in the past year (1April to 31 March).
Finally, if you have an Iberia Plus Gold card and you would like an Iberia Plus Platinum card, you will need to earn 12,500 Elite Points in two years or have earned 6,250 Elite Points in the past year (1 April to 31 March).

How can I upgrade with my Avios?


If you have an Economy class ticket (rate Y, B or H) for a flight operated by Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum) contact your Iberia Plus Service Centre or your local Iberia Sales Office, and they will change your booking and charge it to your Avios.
This service is subject to the availability of certain classes in the Business cabin.

*Excluding Air Shuttle flights, IB4XXX, IB5XXX and IB7XXX.

What do I need to sign up in Iberia Plus?


If you are an Iberia Plus member you will have received an email with a secret number (password) or PIN to access your personal area, where you will be automatically registered online and can edit your contact details or subscribe to notifications, etc.

If you are an Iberia Plus member but have not registered with Iberia.com, you will be able to access the site via "Forgotten your PIN number or don't have one". You will be asked to enter your Iberia Plus card number and will then be able to check the details you provided when you joined the programme, adding to them or correcting them if necessary.
If you still haven't joined Iberia Plus, you can register through Iberia.com. All you have to do is fill in a short form and a few days later you will receive your card at the address you provide. Until then, you can print a replica of your card on paper (option available at the end of the registration process) or simply make a note of your card number.
