The Municipal Park of Mount San Pedro, formerly pasture and farm land as well as a military zone, was in 1999 turned into a nature park with lovely views over the city, the Atlantic and the surrounding countryside. It has pretty gardens planted with flora typical of the Galician coast, as well as rock formations where native birds shelter. On the slope leading down to the sea there's a fossilised dune left over from the last ice age 28,000 years ago. There's also a visitor centre and restaurant; more details at www.miradordesanpedro.es.
