Talleyrand opened its doors back in the seventies, with a name that pays homage to the French character Talleyrand, known for - among other merits- being a great host and gourmet in the nineteenth century. At first he specialised in French cuisine, but with time, he has expanded to international fusion with local products. Can you guess one of the star dishes at this restaurant, apart from the pasta and spaghetti, or meat prepared in all its forms? If you've guessed that it's Surubí, the traditional fish dish of Paraguay, then you're right, in this case prepared with Roquefort for a distinctive touch. Talleyrand is divided into several rooms, although it is hardly spacious, so it's advisable to book if you would like to have lunch in this icon of Asunción. The chain also has another restaurant in the Sol shopping centre, which is a more comfortable and spacious place to eat. Hint: study the wine list carefully; you will not be disappointed.
