Brattle Book Shop

A book lover’s paradise

If you’re passionate about literature, this unique bookshop at 9 West Street is not to be missed. Brattle Book Shop is one of the oldest and largest second-hand bookshops in the whole country, dating back to 1825. Its shelves are stacked with rare or out-of-print novels, antique treasures, books of great historical value, maps, posters, pamphlets and other unusual items. In total, there are over 250,000 books spread over this bookshop's three floors. It is open from 9am to 5pm and you can also check it out online at www.brattlebookshop.com. Talking of literature, the bookshops in Harvard Square are also well worth a visit.
