At the time of writing, Spain has eight restaurants with three Michelin stars; the one in Madrid is DiverXO, helmed by "it" chef David Muñoz, who also happens to be one of the country's youngest, serving up a fantastic Mediterranean-Asian fusion. Two-star restaurants include Club Allard (three original menus depending on your mood; reservations necessary); La Terraza del Casino (creative cuisine coupled with impressive views); Ramón Freixa Madrid (new recipes to "make people happy"); Santceloni (chef Óscar Velasco's highly refined take on Spanish cuisine); the reknowned Sergi Arola's restaurant (menus rotating on a monthly basis with the chef's latest and greatest creations). One-stars are DSTAgE (chef Diego Guerrero); Kabuki and Kabuki Wellington (very upmarket Japanese); La Cabra (seasonal Spanish by chef Javier Aranda in the Chamberí neighbourhood); Punto MX (exquisite Mexican); and Álbora (right in the fashionable Salamanca district). Then, there are also several worthy one-stars outside the city: Casa José en Aranjuez; Coque in Humanes de Madrid; Montia in San Lorenzo de El Escorial; and Chirón en Valdemoro.
