Granada-style lamps are another interesting purchase to consider when visiting the city, mixing as they do both Moorish and Spanish aesthetics and sensibilities. Little works of art combining clear glass with bits of multicolour glass, they make the perfect original touch for homes, especially those blending the rustic and modern. A good place to buy lamps is Casa Estévez (www.HijosdeEstevez.com), established as a lamp factory back in 1911 and dedicated to crafting lighting and decor. Another good option is the Al-Andalus lamp factory (www.LamparaAl-Andalus.com) on Calle Zarate, part of the Zarate Industrial Park in the town of Peligros (which means "dangers", BTW but is totally safe!) a few short kilometres outside Granada. You can also find some wonderful lamps in local antiques shops such as those along Calle Elvira.
