Flamenco Shows

One of Andalusia's capitals of flamenco, much of it performed in atmospheric caves

Granada is flamenco country, with a plethora of tablaos (as the venues are called) - including a proliferation of less than high-quality shows, such is the demand. That's why you'll want to check with reliable local sources for recommendations. Two worthy options, both hollowed-out caves up on Sacromonte hill, are the popular Cuevas de los Tarantos (www.CuevasLosTarantos.com), where since 1972 the great artists of the genre have stomped, strummed, and sung; and Cueva de la Rocío (www.CuevaLaRocio.es), even older (est. 1951), and run by one of the flamenco world's most important dynasties, the Maya family.
