If you're of an outdoorsy, slightly adventurous bent, the tour operator Lanzarote a Caballo has a number of great options for individuals or families of all levels of experience. Horseback tours, of course, as the name implies, but also three-hour ATV excursions to the Playa Quemada fishing village, up Mount Adomada, and a visit to the port of Puerto Calero, all along dirt and salt tracks. Another option is a one- to two-hour camel trek, open to ages seven and up. Finally, if you're up for a rousing session of paintball, they've got a good course back at their home base roughly halfway along the road from Arrecife to Yaiza.
