You can organize a tour around the wetlands where you’ll have no problem spotting alligators

Everglades

Have anyone seen Horatio Caine?

Take a break from days at the beach or from visiting the city sights and go to the south of Florida to immerse yourself in the wildest and most untamed area in the state. The Everglades are a huge area of sub-tropical, marshy land, a unique landscape as most of it is submerged under water. Rushes and other vegetation emerge from the water. Part of this land is protected by the Everglades National Park. What will really grab your attention, besides the landscape, is the huge number of living creatures and indigenous species that live there, the most remarkable, perhaps, being the alligators. Would you like to see them? If so, go into one of the many places that offer tours of the wetlands, for example, Coopertown, a long-established company that has been operating since 1945. Travelling on what they call airboats, boats which have a sort of huge fan at the back and which skate over the water at full pelt, you will be able to greet these enormous reptiles from close up.
