At Leopoldstrasse 36, in the middle of the Schwabing nieghbourhood, you'll notice a featureless yet distinctive white striding sculpture 17 metres (56 feet) high amid the office buildings and other monochromatic structures surrounding it. Jonathan Borofsky's 1995 work was commissioned by the nearby insurance company Münchener Rück. It's a particularly notable landmark of a neighbourhood with a fairly lively flair to it; during the day there's a goodly number of restaurants and street stands (even a street market much of the year), and at night, plenty of bars and pubs keep the after-work fun going until the wee hours.
