You can't leave Pamplona without going on a touristic visit of viticulture to the 'Centro de exposición de la Viña y el Vino de Navarra', which is also considered as the 'Museo del Vino' (Wine Museum), and is housed in the ancient 18th century Palace of ‘Santo Ángel’, which is also a state-run hotel. The Wine Centre is located in the town of ‘Olite’, but it's certainly worth making the 43-kilometre journey and to live the immersion experience of Navarre's wine culture. The Museum is partitioned in three floors with each one dedicated to a different stage of the wine making process, starting with the vine and its cultivation using farming tools, to explanatory panels and interactive exhibitions about the grape harvest and its processes. There's also a historical and sensory tour (with scented boxes and sweets) on the importance of wine in Navarre and its Denomination of Origin.
