On Avenida 1 northwest of Parque Central, this hulking labyrinth is colourful and bustling — and perhaps even a bit less chaotic that some other Latin American public markets. Here the star products are produce, meat, and fish, all skillfully and enticingly displayed. The narrow passageways fill up more as the day marches on, and the aromas from the food both in the stands and cooked at the eateries in here are mighty tempting (great spots to find tasty, inexpensive local food). There are a few spots for local crafts in here as well. And finally, watch your wallet!
