In 1924, Lorenzo Iriondo and Vicenta Arregui had the good luck to open their Café Oquendo halfway between the Kursaal and the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. Why? Because as of 1953 those two spots became key centres for the city's reknowned international film festival.
