At end end of the long waterfront promenade which links the beaches and hills around La Concha Bay, at the foot of Mount Igueldo you'll find one of Spain's more famous public sculptures of the 20th century. A trio of curving steel sculptures anchored to craggy rocks out here in 1977, El Peine de los Vientos ("The Comb of the Winds") is the work of San Sebastián's (and the entire Basque Country's) best known artist internationally, Eduardo Chillida. The city's Chillida Museum may be currently closed, but this installation provides a wonderful and particularly dramatic example of the maestro's iconic work.
