Beyond the Alberdi Elder Gardens around the City Hall begins the part of the historic district called the Ensanche de Cortázar. During the day, this is one of the city's top shopping districts, its main avenue lined with a nice bunch of fashion and lifestyle boutiques which mix international brands with local and family-owned businesses. At the end of the street is the popular San Martín Market. This is the beginning of Loyola and San Marcial Streets, with their fabulous selection of shops you won't want to miss (there are also a number of souvenir shops of the type you'll find all over town). Besides great fashion, the area is also fab for foodies, with various enticing gourmet shops.
