The waterfront promenade is among Santa Cruz's best areas for dining, with a high number and variety of excellent-quality restaurants - many of which also offer the bonus of marvelous views along the coast. One of the best known is Restaurante La Lonja, on Avenida Marítima, with a full menu of meat dishes (lamb, beef, pork, also rabbit) and fish (cod, flounder, monkfish, hake), in addition to a full complement of soups, salads, egg and rice dishes. Another excellent option is Bodegón Restaurante Mambrino on Avenida El Puente, which has plenty of typical Canarian dishes on its menu and is besides one of La Palma's few eateries with a Biosphere quality certification from the Institute for Responsible Tourism.
