This gigantic natural park is located in the Pisueña Valley, on the hillside of Peña Cabarga Mountain, and is one of the region’s most popular tourist attractions. These spectacular excursions started in 1989, and you can now walk, drive or cycle through the old iron mines and observe several species of flora and fauna. This park is also one of the main breeding and conservation centres for animals from all over the world, and you can often see families of bears roaming the area. This is a unique excursion, where you will see hippos in partial freedom, sea lions and an enormous terrarium that is home to all kinds of snakes (this is only for the brave). This is a must-visit while you are in Santander, and a great way to immerse yourself in nature at the heart of Cantabria.
