Sure, getting to know a new city on foot and at your own pace is great; however, in Santiago de Compostela there's another way with its own charms: the tourist train. You can catch it in the Plaza del Obradoiro, from where a tour of the historic center will take 45 minutes. You will pass by the cathedral and other areas of the old town, discovering fantastic gardens and having the chance to enjoy the best views of the city. It's really affordable, too: 6 € adults and 4 € children four to twelve years; a good choice if you travel with the whole family. Hours of operation vary by season, so it is advisable to go to the square to confirm when it's running. In high season, for example, it offers daily service.
