The Rhine Falls

Mother Earth's spectacular sights

To make the most of your visit to Switzerland, we suggest one of those places that you'll never be able to forget: we are referring to the Rhine Falls. Although they are located outside Zurich, they're not too far away, as they are on the German border between the cantons of Zurich and Schaffhausen. These waterfalls were formed more than 14,000 years ago during the Ice Age, allowing natural coincidences to form a completely wild and natural ecosystem, which is why their appearance has hardly changed throughout the evolution, as the balance between the water and the rocks doesn't allow the earth to erode. Now, you must take care when you go near here, as the water falls with such force that it is used to generate electricity for entire cities. There are also various viewpoints around here, and since you're already in the area, don't miss Wörth Castle because the views from there are incomparable.
