ResidentsAny questions?

When does the resident discount apply?

The resident discount applies to domestic flights only. If you are a resident and wish to purchase a ticket with an international final destination and use the discount for the domestic part of your trip, you should be issued two tickets: one for the domestic journey and another for international journey. The two tickets are considered to be totally independent, so the policy for connecting tickets does not apply. This includes things such as luggage check-in at final destination, missing a flight, delayed flights or any other incident that may occur.

What is the residency subsidy?

This is a 50% discount on the cost of the regular air transport services, granted by the Spanish government. These discounts will be applied to Spanish citizens and citizens of other member states of the European Union or other States that are members of the European Economic Area, who can prove that they are resident in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla and who are travelling between their place of residency and any other part of Spanish national territory.

The valid documentation to prove residence in non-Peninsula territory (both for Spanish nationals and those of the European Economic Area and Switzerland), will be the Residence Certificate issued by the City Council or Town Hall where the passenger is registered on the electoral roll..
Remember that you must present your valid Residence Certificate for the trip, at check-in or before boarding (as well as your National Identity Document to check the identity of the beneficiary) more information

I have right to a resident's discount. How do I indicate this when I come to make the reservation via Iberia.com?

We offer you the option of indicating whether you are a resident of the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands or Melilla from our homepage. Once you choose your flight origin and destination, tick the resident’s box and the flights we show you will appear with the discount already applied.

Later, on the Passenger information screen, you will be required to fill out the obligatory details to give you a resident's discount (type of accreditation document and municipality).

In order to benefit from the resident's discount via our Web page, all passengers associated with the reservation must have the right to a resident's discount, they must be Spanish citizens, citizens of other member states of the European Union or citizens of other States that are members of the European Economic Area (currently Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), who can prove that they are resident in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla and who are travelling between their place of residency (Residents of Ceuta, will only be entitled to the discount for journeys whose origen or destination is exclusively at Malaga, Jerez or Sevilla airports) and any other part of Spanish national territory. If any of the passengers is not a resident, they should make a reservation separately.

The valid documentation to prove residence in non-Peninsula territory (both for Spanish nationals and those of the European Economic Area and Switzerland), will be the Residence Certificate issued by the City Council or Town Hall where the passenger is registered on the electoral roll.

Remember that you must present your valid Residence Certificate for the trip, at check-in or before boarding (as well as your National Identity Document to check the identity of the beneficiary) more information
