You can purchase it in advance at the time of booking (a first additional suitcase), or afterwards at Manage your booking or during online check-in if you need to take more luggage.
You will enjoy a discount if you purchase it before going to the airport. Check the available airports where you can buy additional baggage at iberia.com.
The maximum weight of each item is 23 Kg. For bags weighing between 24 Kg and 32 Kg, a fixed excess weight fee will apply. Usually, the charge of an extra piece of luggage is cheaper than an excess weight fee.
We suggest arriving 20 minutes before the recommended time if you are taking additional baggage.
There is a maximum of 10 additional pieces permitted on your free baggage allowance except on routes with particular restrictions. On flights involving Regional Air Nostrum (IB8000), only a maximum of 3 additional pieces of up 23 kg. will be admitted as excess baggage.
Checked baggage allowance of codeshare companies, i.e., oneworld and associated firms, can differ. For excess weight, excess baggage, etc., the baggage regulations of the company that operates the flight will apply. When you book you will find the details on the airline company that will operate your flight at bookings management. Check with the operator to confirm the baggage you can check in and other restrictions.
If you are travelling on an IB5XXX flight and/or in transit between IB5XXX flights, the free baggage allowance will be one piece of baggage weighing 23 kg. When the weight of the piece is more than 23 kg, every kilo over will be subject to a €12 surcharge, up to a maximum of 32 kg.. The surcharge per additional piece is €70 on domestic routes and €90 on international routes and Canary Islands, payable at the airport plus €12 per kilo of the weight of that piece.
