This picturesque small town in Asturias' far west has long been famous for its traditional knifemaking industry, and one of the key things that visitors do in Taramundi is stop by an artisan's workshop to learn about this ancient craft, which still produces blades highly prized throughout the world, which keep their sharpness for years. There's also a mighty sharp little museum (sorry) of traditional knifes and the history of the local industry. Naturally you can also pick up a blade or two (dinner cutlery, pocketknives, razors, hunting knives, etc.) of various ilks - large, small, decorated, inscribed, and so on.
