Laid-back nightlife in the San Ildefonso neighbourhood of Jaén
Fancy a quiet drink? These neighbourhoods are just the ticket - well, except maybe for the "nest of vampires"
A more laid-back nightlife scene - mostly
Folks who are over the teeny-bopper and 20-something carousing scene will appreciate the quieter pubs and cafés of Jaén's San Ildefonso and Felipe Arche districts. Two of the best-known spots are Ravel (Calle Teodoro Calvache 3), open daily 4pm till the wee hours, and Bitelchus, a cocktail spot with good prices. Come summer, the most pleasant option are a pair of outdoor cafés beyond the bull ring, El Hípico and El Arche. And if you're in the mood for something a little different, check out Admiral's Arms (www.NidodeVampiros.es - yes, that means "nest of vampires", but they also welcome werewolves, zombies, witches, and of course elves) at Calle Virgen de los Reyes 2, outside the historic centre. It's a Goth/metal club, you see - and one with a stage for, er, live acts, along with food service and foosball tables.
