The Plazas of Granada
Great not just for taking a shady rest but for experiencing the vivacious street life of Granada
Gracious outdoor living rooms
In Granada, any plaza with good shade is a great place to have a seat and enjoy the city's relatively unhurried pace. Plaza Nueva, which you'll likely find yourself passing through more than once during your visit, is the city centre's main hub, from which you can start the walk up to the Alhambra after you've fueled up at one of the sidewalk cafés. In the lower part of the city is another iconic square: Plaza Bib Rambla (which means "door of the river", because the river originated near hear). The rectangular space is full of sidewalk cafés, flower stands, and little crafts and souvenir shops. It's one of the most popular spots in town, and a must to experience Granada street life.
