Majorcan meat specialities
Majorcan cuisine isn't all seafood - especially in the hinterland, pork, lamb, and fowl are fair choices.
It's said that while seafood lovers make out spectacularly well in Majorca's coastal towns and cities, the more carnivorous of palate might want to consider heading inland, especially up into the Tramuntana mountains. Honestly, you'll get a great meal no matter what you order anywhere you go, but in any case, on the subject of meat you'll want to pay particular attention to the local suckling pig, roast lamb and escaldums. This last is a stew made from turkey or duck, potatoes and almonds. The classic place to try all the above is the village of Sineu, pretty much in the centre of the island.
