This fabled green spirit is getting some new attention, and this is its home in Prague.
A shop specialising in absinthe that doubles as a bar and museum.
Absinthe, of course, is the potent distilled spirit that became so identified with Europe's bohemian and artistic demimonde of the 19th and early 20th centuries, with a tremendous amount of lore growing up around it. Here at Jilská 5 in Old Town that lore - and plenty of the once widely banned "Green Fairy" itself - is much in evidence. You can buy various brands of absinthe as well as memorabilia, and even belly up to a bar to sample the wares.
