A famous carillon, a "holy house," and a distinguished collection of liturgical items.
A famous Baroque pilgrimage site.
Built over the course of the 17th and 18th centuries and located near the Prague Castle in the Hradčany district on Loretánské Náměstí (Loreta Square), Loreto is one of the Czech Republic's and Central Europe's top Catholic pilgrimage sites. The complex is comprised of a church, a cloister, a pair of chapels, a carillon tower, and a "Santa Casa," a replica of the house of the Virgin Mary, and flanking the central courtyard, a pair of lovely sculpture groupings, "The Resurrection" and "The Assumption." There's also a valuable collection of liturgical items. More information: http://www.loreta.cz/en.
