If you've got a little time for an out-of-town dinner foray, this big, welcoming steakhouse with a Mexican accent is a local favourite.
Slightly out of town, a Salvadoran-Mexican steakhouse.
It's impossible not to feel welcome out here at La Hacienda Real, which is perfect for a romantic evening, a dinner with friends, to celebrate a wedding, birthday, or any special occasion - or simply to enjoy its warm, very local-feeling atmosphere. All that plus the best steak in the area. To get to the acreage surrounding the restaurant you'll need to get out of town just a bit, traveling about 8 kilometres (5 miles) down the Panamerican Highway towards the area of Antiguo Cuscatlán. The menu is a mix of Salvadoran and a variation of northern Mexican known as Tex-Mex. Whatever it's called, it's a local favourite, and an excellent value (which is actually not uncommon in San Salvador). Come with an appetite and some time to kick back and relax.
