The natural side of San Sebastián's aquatic heritage
Spain's oldest, but modernised
In a vintage stone building with a fancy 1990s annex at the far end of the port area, past the Paseo Nuevo, Spain's oldest aquarium (est. 1928) puts on display the natural side of San Sebastián's aquatic heritage, with modern aquariums of Cantabrian marine life as well as museum displays and bells and whistles like touch tanks and a shark tunnel. A good complement to this is exploring the city's maritime history/culture at the Naval Museum.
