San Sebastián's Big Three Bridges

Handsome spans, all

San Sebastián certainly has no dearth of bridges, but there's one trio that particularly stands out. The first of the three is Puente de la Zurriola, better known as Kursaal Bridge, as it links this high-profile arts/entertainment complex with the rest of the city, built in 1921. The second is the Puente de Santa Cristina, probably the city's loveliest and most historic, dating back to 1905, when it was considered the height of modernity, adorned with obelisks and other meticulous frippery. The third is actually the oldest (1872), the neoclassical Puente de Santa Catalina, the first bridge across the city's Urumea River.
