From prehistory to the present day, but especially powerful when it comes to World War II and the Nazis
Munich's life & times
Founded in 1888 in a pair of Gothic buildings - the onetime municipal stables and arsenal, the Stadtmuseum covers the hiistory of the area from prehistoric settlements to the present day. One of its most fascinating sections is devoted to Munich's role as the capital of the Nazi movement, as well as the devastating effects on the city of World War II.
