A master of signature cuisine - with all these words imply, including not coming too hungry because the dishes are not that generous- and of use of space, the Monastrell is the perfect choice when you want to be surprised by an intimate décor and a selected ambience. Its premises at Pasaje del Amérigo have a lovely terrace for romantic or informal evenings and they also offer great cocktails. Their dishes boast unusual combinations of flavours, mixing local Mediterranean produce with the innovating ideas proposed by its owner and self-taught chef María José San Román, among which is the reinvention of the 'bocadillo de calamares' (squid sandwich). The Monastrell can be found in Rafael Altamira street, where its large cellar is located, with its D.O. wines that are the perfect match for their dishes, and even a bookshop selling cooking books about the most delicious specialities.
