An odd little corner of the Old Town, designed back in 1840 as a precursor to the shopping mall

Plaza Redonda

A round square?

The "Round Plaza" is a historic bit of business in the Ciutat Vella (Old Town) which was designed as a kind of precursor to a shopping mall back in 1840, and would feel totally old-timey if it weren't for the modern partial roof added as a result of a 2012 restoration. It's still a cool spot to browse shops offering antiques, crafts, as well as old fashioned haberdasheries. On Sundays, Plaza Redonda is also home to one of Valencia's most interesting street markets, featuring all manner of bric a brac.
