Valencia Cathedral

A symbol of the city - especially "Little Mikey"

Many of the architectural elements which give Valencia its flavour come together in its imposing cathedral, built beginning in the 13th century. In fact, its three doorways reflect a bit of each: Romanesque in the Puerta del Palau, Gothic in the Puerta de los Apóstoles, and Baroque in the Puerta de los Hierros. But if there's one single symbol of this edifice, it's the "Miguelete" ("little Mikey"), a tower more than 50 metres (164 feet) tall, a work of medieval architect Andreu Juliá. The cathedral's Chapel of the Holy Chalice is held to house the legendary Holy Grail.
