Tapas in Los Llanos de Aridane
This city west of Santa Cruz has perhaps the best tapas-bar scene on the island
Head to Los Llanos de Aridane
Tapas culture is popular in La Palma as most everywhere else in Spain, and to sample the local scene perhaps the best place is Los Llanos de Aridane, due to its especially wide and varied selection of bars and taverns which serve them. Particularly recommendable is Tasca Palacios on Avenida Tanausú - a classically innlike establishment complete with cured ham hocks hanging from the ceiling and a wide variety of tapas as well as a 65-vintage wine list. Another excellent option is Bar Taburiente, located in the Hotel Valle Aridane on the Castillo Olivares roundabout; here both the tapas and the relaxing ambiance are a bit more upmarket.
