Valencia Institute of Modern Art
Permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, and a wide variety of performances and events
Valencia's artsy cutting edge
Called IVAM for short, the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern has since its 1989 founding showcased a wide range of original, multidisciplinary artistic voices and currents from all corners of contemporary art. Its permanent collection is devoted mainly to Juli González, one of Catalonia's most influential sculptures of the 20th century (with nearly 400 of his works) and more than 100 works by Valencian painter Ignacio Pinazo, a key figure of early 20th-century Impressionism. In addition, there are temporary exhibitions and other events including talks, performances, and a variety of other artistic happenings.
