EARNING ELITE POINTS AND AVIOS
You will collect the following for each flight you take with the British Airways (BA) code:
-
Avios, a currency that you get in your Iberia Plus balance to redeem for flights and other opportunities offered by the programme.
-
Elite Points, a currency you get exclusively on flights and serving as a measure for keeping and/or gaining access to tier levels.
Earning Avios on flights with British Airways (BA) code (purchased on or after 18/10/2023) is related to the following criteria:
-
Spend in pound sterling (£). Applicable to net expense (fare and carrier imposed charges) and excluding non-airline taxes and fees, such as airport charges and government taxes. For tickets purchased in another currency, the total eligible spend will be converted to GBP using the IATA 5-day exchange rate applicable on the date the ticket was issued or the add-on was purchased. The Avios will be calculated using this converted amount.
-
Tier level (Platino, Oro and Plata bonuses).
