  • Accrual on tickets purchased from 29/11/2022:
    - Vueling code operated by Iberia: based on distance flown in miles and fare class
    - Vueling code operated by Vueling: based on cost and fare
  • Redeem: The Avios required to book a flight will depend on the season and the class of the booking. 4,500 Avios are equivalent to a low-season flight within the Iberian Peninsula.

Vueling takes you to more than 130 destinations, including the principal cities in Spain, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. With Vueling you can add Avios to your Iberia Plus balance and use them to get discounts on flights and other benefits offered through the programme. You'll also collect Elite Points to either maintain your card tier or upgrade to the next one.

How can I earn Avios?

Step 1

Enter your Iberia Plus card number when you book your flight or when you check in.

Step 2

Flown with Vueling in the last 6 months and the Avios are not yet in your account? You have up to six months from the date of your flight to claim them by clicking call center

EARNING ELITE POINTS AND AVIOS 

You obtain the following for each flight you book with Vueling:

1- Avios: a currency that accumulates in your Iberia Plus balance to be redeemed for flights and other opportunities offered by the Program.
2- Elite Points: a currency obtained exclusively on flights and serving as a measure for maintenance and/or access to elite card levels.

*These are the Avios you receive as a minimum, depending on the booking class, when you fly less than 500 air miles.

 

The earning of Avios is related to the following criteria:

  • Actual distance flown based on miles and flight class (cabin bonus)

  • Minimum number of Avios (per flight class)

The Avios earned by IB Plus members will be the result of multiplying the total cost of the ticket by 2 or 4 depending on the fare chosen.

*Eligible expense: In addition to the cost of the flight, you can earn Avios with the cost of complementary services purchased during the purchase process of your flight. Cancellation insurance and credit card commission are not included. 

 

PLATINO, ORO AND PLATA BONUS 

The Elite Bonus is an additional amount of Avios earned by Platino, Oro and Plata elite card customers.

This bonus will only apply on the Madrid-Barcelona leg for the following codes:

Iberia Code (IB) - The Bonus just applies in flights of ticktes issued before 29/11/2022.

Vueling Code (Operated by Iberia)

  • Platina Card: 100%

  • Oro Card: 50%

  • Plata Card: 25%

This bonus will be applied by multiplying the percentage by the actual distance flown (or over the minimum of 500 for flights less than that distance) for Flexible Economy/Full Economy and Business class.

ADVISORY ON AVIOS AND ELITE POINTS:

1. "Other flights" includes those not found in the rest of the defined zones (for example, inter-European flights without origin/destination Spain operated by Vueling or inter-American flights such as Quito-Guayaquil).
2. Iberia reserves the right to modify these tables, as well as the scheduling of its routes and flights.
3. To claim those Avios not noted on flights operated by VY; in the case of IB flights you can do so through Iberia.com. Please contact your service center for any other flight.

Vueling

The following table applies to direct flights operated by Vueling (code IB). Different tariffs for peak and off-peak for flights charged to Avios are introduced. The peak and off-peak dates are common to all the companies to which the tables apply.

NOTES

  • The bands are determined by the distance between origin and destination (per flight). A return ticket will cost twice a single ticket.

  • This Avios use table has exceptions, meaning that not all flights whose distance corresponds to some band are included in the band (for instance, the Barcelona-Tenerife flight, of 1380 miles, is in band 2 instead of band 3).

  • Iberia reserves the right to modify the Avios use table, as well as to schedule its routes and flights.

  • Booking and issue of tickets charged to your Avios for flights operated by Vueling (and code IB) are exempt from booking fees if made through Iberia.com. There will be an additional charge per ticket when the booking is made through its Service Center (except for Platinum clients, who are exempt).
