With an air of superiority

Without any fear of being mistaken, we can confirm that this is the most impressive building on an architectural level from all those that you'll discover in Medellín. It was designed by the famous Belgian architect Augustín Goovaerts and built in 1925. In a noticeable neo-Gothic style, the flying buttress arches are perfectly combined with large windows that give it an unmistakable and majestic air of superiority. Now, there are two parts that stand out from the rest: on the one hand, the combination of white and grey pieces of its exterior facade that create the most striking contrast; and on the other hand, the fascinating dome which is almost at 20 metres in height to crown the building, and is a real masterpiece of engineering. Inside the building, the Rafael Uribe Uribe Palace of Culture houses the city's historical and photographical archive, as well as a museum, art galleries, and rooms in which cultural activities are scheduled. There is a possibility to do a guided tour inside the building, which is completely free of charge.
