Museo Casa de Murillo

Murillo's' home.

The painter, Bartolomé Estebán Murillo, spent the latter years of his life here and passed away in 1682. Murillo's museum/house is a two-storey building with a striking interior patio at number 8 on the street of 'calle Santa Teresa', in the district of Santa Cruz. In 1972, the Murillo museum was established here where they recreated the rooms: the kitchen, bedroom and the living room were almost a spitting image of how they were when the artist was still alive, but it wasn't until 1982 when Murillo's Museum/House actually opened. At that time, the works by the baroque painter could still be observed, but unfortunately the museum didn't last long, as the building was reformed into offices during 1988. Despite this, it's still worth visiting its interior patio.
