The Black Forest Cuckoo Clock

Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

Cuckoo clocks are one of Germany's great traditions and although it's true that their place of origin or how long they have been around for is unknown, it is known that they came from somewhere around the region of the Black Forest. On the other hand, there is evidence of their existence since the 18th century. Nevertheless, they're quite a symbol in the whole country and they've become one of the main souvenirs for visitors in Frankfurt. Throughout the city, you'll find a large quantity of all kinds of clocks with different decorative designs. You'll find them on Zeil Street and even in jewellers and luxury shops with luxury models of them. However, if you're looking for a hand-made cuckoo clock at a much more reasonable price, you can head down to the district of 'Fressgrass'. Lose your bearings for a while around these narrow streets and you'll find the clock that you're looking for.
