Agua de Bueyes Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and Surrounding Areas

A beautiful and wild environment

Almost located in the geographic centre of the island, Agua de Bueyes is one of those villages on Fuerteventura which is made up of various elements that make it a real place of interest on its own: the barren orography makes this place incredible, as it appears isolated and desolate from the road, which is a characteristic that only this kind of nature can allow. The houses which are built in an arbitrary way were constructed around the chapel of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, which is the patron saint of the place, and the epicentre of the village's activity. The past and present of the region is evidently based on agriculture, and the Tiscamanita windmill is located on the outskirts, which is one of the most important and historic ones on the island. To complete the landscape, the Caldera de Gairía and the Valles de Ortega are found nearby which comprise the hardest and wildest part of the region.
