The influence of Spanish baroque architecture is apparent in this stunning building that is home to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs nowadays. Torre Tagle Palace belonged to the Marquis of Tagle from the eighteenth century until it was acquired by the Peruvian government in 1918. Its facade will remind you of the 'Mudejar' influences of baroque Andalusian with an unmistakable Moorish row of balconies of finely worked wood, around which is a stone porch with a coat of arms is opened. The building was constructed in 1735 and is considered as one of the best examples of art in Lima. Past the hall, you'll find an Andalucian patio around which the galleries are arranged in the rooms of the old residency including a sanctuary, large and richly decorated rooms with Rembrandt on the walls and even a picturesque blue and red carriage in which the Marquis used to travel in.
