Tiny spot, but big flavours.

The first thing that may take you aback about O'Bidul, located on Rue de la Palud, is that just one gentlemen waits on you - then goes back and cooks your dinner! The second is that there are only two menu choices - but oh, so well chosen according to the choicest and freshest possible produce of the season, and prepared with true love and enthusiasm. Fabrice Bazin's recipes mix home cooking with touches of signature cuisine for outstanding dishes such as a salad of watercress with Serrano ham, quail eggs, and pistachio oil or the tough choice between meat or fish: codfish with risotto or quail with vegetables. Desserts are always delicious, too. Dishes are elegantly simple, generous, perfectly executed, and very affordable. Marsellais already know this little spot; you should too (just book well ahead; being so tiny, it fills up fast!).
