Guatapé Reservoir

In contact with nature

If you're going to spend several days in Medellín, we recommend you to devote at least one of them to discover the famous Guatapé Reservoir, as well as the small village named after it, which is located at two hours from the city. The natural beauty of its landscapes and the profound peace that you feel in this place will make your visit a real inflection point during your trip. There are two obligatory activities: on the one hand, you can go up more than seven hundred steps that will take you up to the highest point of the Peñol Rock, which is a beautiful hillock from where you'll enjoy incredible views of the area. On the other hand, there's the typical boat outing on the reservoir that will put you in touch with nature, while you fully submerge yourself into the wild landscape of an inherent green colour. The most adventurous will also have the opportunity to practice their favourite water sports.
