A gothic masterpiece surrounded by the Seine with striking , iconic gargoyles and an organ that will leave you lost of words...
Meet the Huntchback!
You’ll be greeted by dozens of majestic gargoyles from all four sides of this imposing , world-famous cathedral built between 1163 and 1345. It is one of the oldest examples of Gothic architecture in France and due to its location on the Île de la Cité, is completely surrounded by the waters of the Seine. Entry to the cathedral is free. One look at its breath-taking organ, Cavaille-Coll, and you’ll see why being named titular organist at Notre-Dame is one of the greatest honours for a professional organist. It is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.45pm and until 7.15pm at weekends. You can find out more about visiting Notre Dame and even book a guided tour of the cathedral on the official website www.notredamedeparis.fr.
