The Plaza de Italia is right on the Sardinero seafront. It is located in the most exclusive area of the city, which runs all along the coast from the Magdalena Peninsula to the Mataleñas Beach. In addition to being one of the most select residential areas, it includes several of the most relevant buildings in Santander, such as the Conference Centre, the Sardinero Sports Fields, the Sports Centre and the Casino, shown on the big screen in the Spanish film entitled 'Airbag'.
