The old tobacco manufacture of Alicante, also known as "La Tabacalera", on San Carlos street, has lately been turned into a space for cultural dinamisation, for the projection of up-and-coming artists and also as an artistic exchange centre. The 2,900 m2 of the Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras -divided into several spaces: Nave Cultural Contemporánea, sala Patrimonio Cultural, Casa de la Música and Jardín Vertical, the first vertical garden in the city- have become an essential visit in Alicante.
