With the Bar of the Year National Award under their belt, the Taberna del Gourmet on San Fernando street has over 30 years' gastronomic experience. They had time to consolidate their wide choice of tapas, montaditos and salt-pickled food, as well as to renovate their premises with a modern twist and an exhibition of delicacies to make your mouth water as soon as you come in. The vegetables from the Alicante area share the spotlight with fresh, just-caught fish and seafood, pata negra cured meats, and D.O. olive oils and wines. Their menu is long, so if you find yourself a bit lost, why not try one of the 'Menús degustación', between 27 and 55 euros, which include specialties such as 'pan de cristal (ciabatta) with tomato' or 'grilled scallops with guacamole'.
