The deepest roots

Aside from salsa, Cali exudes culture on every corner. Its festivals touch on all artistic spheres, so you will always find something to suit you: the acclaimed International Film Festival, in November, one of the most important in Latin America, brings together the best independent artists; the famous International Ballet Festival, in June, which garners greater public following every year; or the Pacific Music Festival, in August, which focuses on local music and is responsible for keeping the traditional tunes of national folklore alive. However, do you want to attend something that is very typically Colombian? Then don’t miss the ‘Inti raymi’ Festival, in June, where the indigenous people worship the sun in an act of pure communion with nature and show themselves to be justly proud of the region’s ethnic diversity.
